The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said Tuesday it has deployed assistance and response teams to help communities affected by Typhoon Tino in the Visayas.
In a statement, the PCG shared that apart from assistance, stronger security measures are being implemented in the Eastern Visayas.
A coastal security patrol is now being conducted to secure the Palompon Port and Tourism Office in Leyte and Sitio Lutao in Barangay Macabug, Ormoc City.
Food packs were distributed to families at the Dapdap Evacuation Center.
Meanwhile, four Deployable Response Groups (DRGs) were deployed to aid residents in Cebu by Coast Guard District Central Visayas (CGDCV).
Rescue teams were sent to help the communities of Liloan in Cebu, Barangay Umapad in Mandaue and Barangay Biasong in Talisay City.
As of 5 p.m., PAGASA said that Typhoon Tino maintains strength as it moves over the Sulu Sea.
