PAGASA: 5 Luzon dams continue to release water amid Uwan
More gates were opened in five major dams in Luzon that have been releasing water amid the heavy rains brought by Typhoon Uwan, according to state weather bureau PAGASA on Monday.
In an update, PAGASA said the following dams have been releasing water:
- Angat Dam - three gates with 3.0-meter opening, releasing 450.00 cubic meters per second
- Ipo Dam - three gates with 3.5-meter opening, releasing 497.50 cms
- Ambuklao Dam - eight gates with 8.0-meter opening, releasing 1,018.65 cms
- Binga Dam - six gates with 9.5-meter opening, releasing 1,119.42 cms
- Magat Dam - four gates with 7.0-meter, releasing 1,416.94 cms
The water level in Angat Dam increased from 208.95 meters on Sunday to 210.37 meters on Monday. Its current level is higher than its normal high water level of 210 meters.
In Ipo Dam, the water level also increased from 100.05 m to 100.95 m, lower than its normal high water level of 101.10 m, according to PAGASA.
Ambuklao Dam’s water level also increased from 749.48 m to 750.36 m but its current level is still lower than its normal high water level of 752 m.
In Magat Dam, the water level increased from 183.45 to 188.74. This is still lower than its normal high water level of 193.
The water level in Binga Dam decreased from 573.20 m to 572.78 m, maintaining a lower level than its normal high water level of 575 m.—AOL, GMA Integrated News
