P20.4M ‘shabu’ shipment seized, 3 suspects nabbed in Daet

The Philippine National Police (PNP) Thursday said authorities foiled the delivery of three kilograms of suspected shabu worth P20.4 million in an operation in Daet, Camarines Norte Wednesday evening.

In a statement, the PNP said three individuals were arrested after police recovered nine knot-tied and two heat-sealed sachets containing suspected shabu.

Synchronized surveillance, precise coordination, and timely action led to the seizure of the illegal drugs, the PNP said.

The drug delivery was possibly for the supply across Southern Luzon, according to the PNP.

PNP acting chief Lieutenant General Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr. said, “This operation shows how good intelligence and coordinated action can stop drug networks at their crucial points.”

“Hindi namin hahayaan na magkaroon ng puwang ang illegal drugs sa kahit anong komunidad,” he added.

(We will not allow illegal drugs to have a place in any community.)

PNP spokesperson Police Brigadier General Randulf Tuaño, meanwhile, said, “Removing P20.4 million worth of shabu from circulation has a direct effect on community protection. Kailangan nating tiyaking ligtas ang bawat pamilya mula sa ganitong klaseng panganib.”
