Wage hike OK’d for Cordillera minimum wage earners, kasambahays

Minimum wage earners in the private sector as well as kasambahays (domestic workers) in the Cordillera Administrative Region (CAR) can now look forward to higher pay.

This was after the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTPWB) issued two wage orders on December 2 that increased the daily minimum pay in the CAR for the two sectors.

According to Wage Order No. CAR-24, the daily minimum wage rate in the CAR for the private sector will be P505 starting December 30, 2025.

This is an increase of P35 from the previous P470 daily minimum wage. The wage increase shall apply to all minimum wage earners in the private sector in the CAR regardless of their position, designation, or status.

The last hike for minimum wage earners in the CAR was in December 2024, when the RTWPB approved a P40 wage increase that brought the daily minimum wage from P430 to P470.

Wage Order No. CAR-DW-07 also increased the monthly minimum wage of kasambahays to P6,600 effective December 30, 2025.

This is an increase of P600 from the previous P6,000 monthly minimum wage of kasambahays in the CAR. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
