Davao del Sur barangay captain, cohort nabbed in buy-bust op

A barangay captain and his companion were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Purok 7, Barangay Roxas, Sulop, Davao del Sur on Monday evening, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said Tuesday.

In a statement, the PDEA said the 36-year-old barangay captain, identified as alias “Kap,” and his cohort, alias “Dionisio,” were caught selling a sachet of suspected shabu worth P8,000 to a poseur-buyer.

Four more sachets of suspected shabu weighing about 23 grams worth P156,400 and the marked buy-bust money were also seized in the operation.

The arrested suspects are now under the custody of the PDEA.

They will be charged for illegal sale and possession of dangerous drugs under the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, the PDEA said. —VAL, GMA Integrated News
