Wage hikes OK’d for workers in Mimaropa, Zamboanga Peninsula


The Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Boards (RTWPBs) in Region IV-B (Mimaropa) and Region IX (Zamboanga Peninsula) have approved increases in the daily minimum wage of workers and kasambahays (domestic helpers) which will take effect by January 2026.

The wage hikes were also announced on Tuesday on the Facebook page of the National Wages and Productivity Commission (NWPC), an attached agency of the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE).

Under Wage Order No. RB-MIMAROPA-13, the daily minimum wage rate for workers in the private sector in Mimaropa will be at P455 effective Jan. 1, 2026.

This was from the previous rate of P430 for establishments with 10 workers or more, and P404 for establishments with less than 10 workers.

The RTWPB in Mimaropa also issued Wage Order No. RB-Mimaropa-DW-06 which increased the monthly minimum wage of kasambahays to P7,000 from the previous P6,500, or an increase of P500.

In Zamboanga Peninsula, workers of non-agricultural establishments and agriculture establishments will enjoy a P50 wage hike, to be given in two tranches next year.

Under Wage Order No. RIX-24, the daily minimum wage rate in Zamboanga Peninsula by Jan. 1, 2026 will be P439 in non-agriculture establishments with 10 workers or more and P426 for agriculture establishments and retail or service establishments with less than 10 workers.

The second tranche will take effect on June 1, 2026, with the new daily minimum wage rate at P464 for non-agriculture establishments and P451 for agriculture establishments and retail or service establishments. — JMA, GMA Integrated News
