Dome-collapse PDCs logged at Mayon on Friday night

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) recorded dome-collapse pyroclastic density currents (PDCs) or uson at Mayon Volcano on Friday night.

PHIVOLCS logged the PDCs from the Mayon Volcano summit at 6:14 p.m.

The PDCs reportedly traveled around .75 km and 1 km down the Miisi and Bonga Gullies.

Meanwhile, PHIVOLCS said there have been 56 discrete PDCs since 12 a.m.

"Alert Level 3 prevails over Mayon and entry into the 6-km Permanent Danger Zone must be prohibited," PHIVOLCS said. —Jiselle Anne Casucian/VBL, GMA Integrated News
