PASG seizes up to P4.2 B worth of shabu in Subic

(Update) SUBIC BAY FREEPORT, Philippines - The Presidential Anti-Smuggling Group (PASG) announced late Wednesday morning that an additional 600 kilos of high grade shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) were found inside a warehouse at the Subic Bay Industrial park here, upping the total drug haul to a staggering 710 kilos. Authorities here estimate that the street value of the drugs could be worth between P3.5 to P4.2 billion. PASG officials said they found the 600 kilos of shabu inside the Hua Long International Inc.'s warehouse inside the Subic Bay Industrial park in a follow-up operations, the third since the first batch of shabu was discovered inside one of the Freeport's pier last night. A certain Anthony "Anton' Ang, a Chinese national residing in Olongapo City and general manager of Hua Long International Inc., was identified as the main suspect. "Yung purity nito 99%, high grade," PASG chief Antonio Villar told reporters during a press briefing before noon, saying that the original 110 kilos could be worth as much as P500 million in the streets. Operatives of the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) sought the assistance of the PASG after its operatives discovered that a drug shipment arrived here yesterday. - GMANews.TV
