20 hurt as bus falls into ravine in Benguet - report


MANILA, Philippines - At least 20 passengers were injured after a bus they were riding fell into a 50-foot ravine in Benguet province Wednesday night. Radio dzRH reported that the incident occurred at 6:20 p.m. along a highway at Natubleng village in Buguias town, a fourth-class town with a population of 33,177 people. Initial investigation showed the "Rising Sun" bus (AYT-973) was heading for Baguio City from Bontoc, Mountain Province when driver Redentor Pugacan lost control of the brakes. The bus fell into a 50-foot ravine, injuring 20 passengers. The injured were rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and General Center for treatment. - GMANews.TV
