WATCH: Kanlaon Volcano spews 400-meter ash plumes anew
Kanlaon Volcano spewed ash plumes anew on Sunday afternoon that rose 400 meters into the sky, state volcanologists said.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) shared a time lapse footage of the volcano’s ash emission, which was recorded from 5:36 p.m to 5:42 p.m. of April 12.
The grayish ash plumes rose 400 meters above the crater before drifting southwest.
The time lapse footage was recorded by the IP camera of Kanlaon Volcano Observatory–Canlaon City (KVO-CC).
The volcano on Negros Island has been spewing ash plumes in the past week, with one ash emission emitting ash plumes as high as 1,200 meters.
PHIVOLCS reiterated that Alert Level 2 remains in effect over Kanlaon Volcano, which already had three moderately explosive eruptions this year. — JMA, GMA News
