Fire engulfs portion of Sierra Madre in Kalayaan, Laguna

A forest fire broke out Tuesday evening in an area of the Sierra Madre mountain range in Kalayaan, Laguna, which was immediately put under control.

YouScooper Share Ann Lactanin took shots of the blaze at around 8 p.m.

The fire was put under control at past 10 p.m., according to SFO4 Jessus Andres Jr. of the Bureau of Fire Protection in the province.

Meanwhile, firefighters are reportedly having difficulty fully extinguishing the blaze in that part of the mountain because it is steep and has ravines, Andres added. —LDF, GMA News
