Marcos inspects housing program in Nueva Ecija

President Ferdinand ''Bongbong'' Marcos Jr. on Thursday visited the Palayan City Township Project, which is one of the key developments under the government's Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

The President was joined by Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development  Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling, Palayan City Mayor Viandrei Nicole Cuevas and other government officials.

The officials toured the completed residential buildings and community facilities within the area. Some families have started residing in the condominium-type facility, ''signaling the project's transition from construction to an emerging community.''

During his visit, the President inspected some units to take a closer look at the actual living spaces which were prepared for future beneficiaries.

Marcos checked the amenities, particularly the central park and clubhouse, and he also interacted with the residents there.

The Palayan City Township Project is designed as a vertical housing community that integrates residential buildings with open spaces and shared amenities. Once fully completed, it is expected to accommodate around 22,596 beneficiaries across 24 residential buildings.

In his visit in Nueva Ecija, Marcos also met with barangay captains and local government officials of Palayan City as he witnessed the initial rollout of 100 10-kilogram sacks of rice distributed to ambulant vendors.

He also inspected the Kadiwa ng Pangulo stalls, which showcased and sold locally produced goods directly to consumers from farmers in Palayan City and the entire province. — Anna Felicia Bajo/RSJ, GMA News
