A minor strombolian activity occurred at the summit crater of Mayon Volcano early Friday morning, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
A close-up footage of the activity that occurred at the summit crater of Mayon Volcano at 12:48 a.m. was captured by Mayon Volcano Observatory and PHIVOLCS Quick Response Team.
"Effusive eruption at Mayon Volcano persists for the 109th consecutive day, producing incandescent lava flows, pyroclastic density currents (PDC) or locally known as “uson,” and frequent rockfalls," the agency said.
Meanwhile, Alert Level 3 remains in effect over Mayon Volcano and entry into the 6-km Permanent Danger Zone is still strictly prohibited. — BAP, GMA News
