4 rescued from submerged vessel in Bohol

Four individuals were rescued from a submerged motorbanca in the waters between Pres. Carlos P Garcia, Bohol and Barangay Guadalupe, Maasin City, the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) said on Saturday.

According to the PCG, they responded to a report for a Search and Rescue (SAR) operation and found two motorbancas submerged on Friday. 

"Upon arrival, the SAR team sighted two motobancas. Four individuals were transferred to an LGU rescue boat, while the remaining three persons were safely transported to the shoreline of Barangay Tilmobo," PCG said. 

The rescued individuals, all senior citizens, have been turned over to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office of Pitogo for proper disposition. —VAL, GMA News
