Lava flow collapse-fed PDC observed on Mayon Volcano — PHIVOLCS

Lava flow collapse-fed pyroclastic density current was observed late Friday afternoon at the southeastern slope of Mayon Volano, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

The PDC occurred along Bonga Gully of Mayon Volcano at 02:28 p.m. and traveled until the 3-kilometer radius that was captured by the Mayon Volcano Observatory.

The PHIVOLCS underscored that Alert Level 3 remains in effect over Mayon Volcano and that entry into the 6-km Permanent Danger Zone should be prohibited. — BAP, GMA News
