Malolos, Bulacan cop charged for hurting live-in partner in viral video
A police officer in Malolos City, Bulacan is facing administrative and criminal charges for hitting his live-in partner as seen in a viral video, the National Police Commission (NAPOCOM) said Wednesday.
Rafael Vicente Calinisan said in a press conference.
(He has already been charged with a criminal case by the Philippine National Police. The victim has also filed an administrative case with NAPOLCOM.)
Earlier, the PNP said the cop was relieved from his post after he hit his live-in partner inside their home on March 12 as seen in CCTV footage, which went viral online.
Based on the police investigation, the altercation allegedly stemmed from an argument after the officer turned off his location tracker, which angered the victim.
The cop, during the press conference, apologized for the incident.
(I apologize to everyone who was offended by what happened to my partner, especially to the two of us.)
(We have discussed it but this incident was wrong, which further damaged the PNP. This incident is only about me. Not all police officers are like this.)
