Palace declares special non-working day in 3 areas

Malacañang has issued separate proclamations declaring special non-working days in Biliran, Batangas, and Cagayan this May to allow residents to participate in their respective historical and cultural celebrations.

Under Proclamation No. 1240, Malacañang declared May 11, 2026, as a special non-working day in the province of Biliran in celebration of its foundation anniversary.

Proclamation No. 1242 also declared May 20, 2026, as a special non-working day in the Municipality of Gattaran, Cagayan, in line with its founding anniversary celebration.

Proclamation No. 1241, meanwhile, designated May 23, 2026, as a special non-working day in Calaca City, Batangas, in honor of the birth anniversary of General Eleuterio Marasigan.

Acting Executive Secretary Ralph Recto issued the proclamations by authority of President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr., underscoring the importance of giving local communities the opportunity to commemorate such occasions. —VAL, GMA News
