Mother, 1-year-old child killed after truck hits house in Negros Occidental

A woman and her 1-year-old child died after a truck hit their house in Don Salvador Benedicto, Negros Occidental, according to the report of GMA Regional TV's Aileen Pedreso on "Saksi."

A driver of a truck, which was loaded with sand, lost control of the vehicle due to brake malfunction and hit the house.

Police Capt. Judesses Crisologo, Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office spokesperson said that according to the result of an investigation the brake of the truck malfunction while navigating a curve. The driver lost control of the vehicle.

Due to the impact of the truck, a woman and her one-year-old child were struck and killed.

Some of the witnesses said the truck went straight to the window of the house. Five other family members, who were inside the house at the time of the incident, were injured.

Mark Verino, the father of one of the injured persons, said they just finished eating lunch and were asleep at the time of the incident.

The child was situated near the window and was playing when the truck hit the house.

The police are waiting for the decision of the relatives of the victims wthether they will file a complaint against the driver. — BAP, GMA News
