Kanlaon Volcano ash emission seen Thursday
Kanlaon Volcano spewed ash anew on Thursday morning, producing grayish plumes that rose 1200 meters above the crater.
The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) shared sped-up camera footage of the volcano’s ash emission, which started at 6:00 a.m.
"This event generated grayish plumes that rose 1200 meters above the crater before drifting southwest, as captured by the IP camera at Kanlaon Volcano Observatory–Canlaon City," PHIVOLCS said.
In recent days, similar ash emissions were alsO observed at the Kanlaon Volcano.
On Sunday, Kanlaon Volcano spewed ash plumes that rose 300 meters above the crater from 6:58 a.m. to 7:09 a.m.
Kanlaon Volcano remains under Alert Level 2 or a moderate level of volcanic unrest. —VAL, GMA News
