Razon Group extends aid to earthquake-hit communities in Mindanao
Companies under the Razon Group have mobilized relief efforts in Mindanao following the devastating magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck the region last Monday, June 8, 2026.
In a news release on Wednesday, the Razon Group said the relief operation was led by Primelectric, International Container Terminal Services Inc., and Manila Water.
These companies spearheaded the distribution of cash assistance and essential relief supplies to local government units (LGUs) in Sarangani, South Cotabato, and General Santos City.
The Razon Group said the assistance was intended to support local governments and affected residents as they continue recovery and rehabilitation efforts in the aftermath of the destructive quake.
Among the aid provided were fuel for generator sets to help restore critical services, bottled water, rice, canned goods, and other essential supplies for displaced families and communities.
Manila Water deployed one of its Mobile Water Treatment Plants to the area. Primelectric distributed solar lamps and industrial fans to make it more convenient for those staying in evacuation centers.
The Razon Group said its response came amid ongoing relief and recovery operations across the region, where local authorities and humanitarian organizations have been working to address the immediate needs of affected residents.
The relief efforts underscore the private sector's commitment in complementing government disaster response, particularly during large-scale emergencies that require swift, coordinated action, it added. — JMA, GMA News
