Three persons reported missing after the landslides that occurred in a remote barangay in Glan, Sarangani following the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that hit the province and nearby areas on Monday, according to the report of GMA News' Maki Pulido on "24 Oras."

Pulido related that from the main highway, one has take a 30-minute motorcycle ride, cross four rivers before reaching Barangay Kaltuad, a mountain village in Glan, Sarangani.

Some residents, including children, from the area have been suffering from diarrhea or LBM because there is no potable water and no medicines available in the local health center.

A drone footage shows the extent of damage in two small districts or purok, where at least three residents were buried under the landslide.

The locals, however, are losing hope that the remains of the victims would be recovered because of the lack of special equipment.

The wife and brother-in-law of one of the residents, Rommel, are among the victims of the landslide. There was no information provided for the third landslide victim.

Since the earthquake, many children are sick and suffering from diarrhea and fever because of dirty water.

About 50 houses are believed to have been damaged by landslides.

In an interview with the Barangay chairman, the initial batch of assistance have been delivered to the affected area.

The mayor of Glan, Sarangani assured that relief packs are being prepared and delivered to the affected residents. The problem is there has been no delivery of gasoline and diesel. — BAP, GMA News
