Man hacked to death after challenging suspect to fight

A man was hacked to death in Cebu after allegedly provoking a suspect to a fight.

According to a report on “24 Oras Weekend” on Sunday, CCTV footage showed the bloodied victim running along the road while a man armed with a machete chased him.

The suspect later caught up with the victim after riding a tricycle.

Police said the suspect and the victim were friends, with the suspect reportedly allowing the victim to stay in his home.

However, tensions allegedly escalated when the victim arrived at the house while the suspect was asleep. In his affidavit, the suspect said the victim provoked him into drawing his machete, according to the report.
