Lava flow was observed from the Mayon Volcano summit crater late Thursday evening, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.
The lava effusion was recorded at 8:00 p.m. to 10:50 p.m. and 07:14 p.m. to 9:22 p.m.
"Effusive eruption at Mayon Volcano continues for the 172nd consecutive day, generating incandescent lava flows, pyroclastic density currents (PDC) or “uson”, and rockfalls," the PHIVOLCS said.
The agency added that Alert Level 3 prevails over Mayon and entry into the 6-km Permanent Danger Zone must be prohibited. — BAP, GMA News
