3 suspected robbers wounded in NLEX shootout during police's dragnet operation

Three suspected members of a group linked to a series of robberies in Central Luzon were wounded after a shootout with police at the Bocaue Toll Plaza of the North Luzon Expressway.

According to Jamie Santos' report on "Saksi," the suspects were allegedly involved in the robberies at some minimarts in Minalin, Pampanga, and in Victoria, Tarlac.

They were taken to the nearest hospital after the shooting.

Members of the Police Regional Office-3 have been tracking the vehicle used by the suspected robbers and coordinated with the NLEX management to wait for them at the tollgate.

Police were about to approach the suspects' vehicle when the latter opened fire.

“Nagkaroon tayo ng ff ops at sila po ay na-track at sinundan ng mga tauhan at nagkaroon ng dragnet ops na nagresulta sa armed confrontation," Bulacan provincial director Police Col. Jay Baybayan said. —NB, GMA News
