Batangas school assures public campus safe, resumes classes on June 30

Batangas City Integrated High School (BCIHS) announced Monday that regular classes will resume on Tuesday, June 30, after the school, in coordination with the local government and concerned authorities, implemented security measures and assessed that the campus is safe.

In an official statement, the school administration said it had undertaken the necessary safety and security protocols to protect students, teaching and non-teaching personnel, parents, and other stakeholders.

“Following a thorough assessment and the implementation of appropriate precautionary measures, the school administration and the LGU assure the public that the school is safe,” the statement read.

Earlier in the day, BCIHS suspended all classes and on-site school activities due to a shooting threat.

The school encouraged the public to remain calm, saying the situation is being closely monitored and that additional security measures will be implemented as needed.

Regular classes will resume on June 30, with students and personnel advised to follow the usual class schedule unless otherwise announced through official school channels.

The administration also urged the public to rely only on official announcements from the school, the local government unit, and authorized government agencies.

It likewise appealed to the public to refrain from spreading unverified information that could cause unnecessary fear, confusion, or panic.

The school warned that creating, posting, sending, or sharing threatening messages is a serious offense and may result in disciplinary action and sanctions under existing school policies and applicable laws.

“The safety and well-being of the entire school community remain the highest priority of the school administration and the Local Government Unit,” the statement said. —AOL, GMA News
