A minor strombolian activity and lava effusion were observed from the summit crater of Mayon Volcano late Thursday evening, Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS)
These activities were observed and recorded from 7:28 p.m. to 7:31 p.m. on July 2, 2026.
"Effusive eruption at Mayon Volcano continues for the 178th consecutive day, generating incandescent lava flows, pyroclastic density currents (PDC) or “uson”, and rockfalls," PHIVOLCS said.
Alert Level 3 prevails over Mayon, the agency said, and entry into the 6-km Permanent Danger Zone must be prohibited. — BAP, GMA News
