BI arrests 73-year-old Canadian, rescues 3 minors in Sta. Rosa, Laguna

The Bureau of Immigration Fugitive Search Unit arrested a 73-year-old Canadian and rescued three minors in Sta. Rosa, Laguna, according to the report of John Consulta in "24 Oras."

According to the BI Fugitive Search Unit, there are cases of abuse filed against the suspect in Cambodia and Thailand.

"May mga dati rin siyang kaso sa Thailand at Cambodia. Kung saan sinasabi sa Cambodia, convicted siya for child sexual offense," said Rendel Sy, BI Fugitive Search Unit chief.

There is an Interpol Green Notice against the suspect, but his passport was cancelled only in 2018 at the time when he was already in the Philippines.

He has been reported twice here in the Philippines, for abusing an underage male.

Sy also said the suspect is considered a threat to public safety and public interest, especially to children.
