WALANG PASOK: Camarines Norte suspends classes for Monday, July 6, 2026
Classes at all levels, public and private for Monday, July 6, 2026 have been suspended in Camarines Norte, the provincial government announced on Sunday.
In a social media post, the provincial information office shared Governor Ricarte Padilla's order, which states that the suspension is a "precautionary measure" made "in light of an alleged security threat directed at educational institutions."
The governor's advisory continued: "While the matter is being assessed by proper authorities, the Provincial Government is acting with utmost caution to ensure the safety and well-being of our learners, teachers, school personnel, and the general public.
"You may utilize the suspension period to prepare for the arrival of Super Typhoon Inday."
Super Typhoon Bavi currently remains outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility, and as of 8 p.m. Sunday is estimated to be 2,465 km east of southeastern Luzon. The cyclone is forecast to enter the PAR by the middle of next week, at which time it will be assigned the local name Inday.
School safety, meanwhile, has become an urgent topic after a shooting incident in a Tacloban City school that left three students dead and several other people injured. — BM, GMA News
