Lava effusion with minor strombolian activity from the Mayon Volcano summit crater on Monday evening, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

The moderately explosive volcanic eruption characterized by episodic, discrete bursts of glowing magma and lava flow were recorded at 06:52 p.m., 08:01 p.m., 08:29 p.m., and 09:30 p.m. on Monday, July 13, 2026, as captured by the RasPiCam at Mayon Volcano Observatory.

"Effusive eruption at Mayon Volcano continues for the 189th consecutive day, generating incandescent lava flows and rockfalls," the PHIVOLCS said.

Alert Level 3, the agency said, prevails over Mayon and entry into the 6-km Permanent Danger Zone must be prohibited. — BAP, GMA News
