Magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck off the coast of Balut Island, Sarangani, Davao Occidental

A magnitude 6.5 earthquake struck southwest of Balut Island, Sarangani, Davao Occidental late Tuesday evening, the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) reported.

The quake, which occurred at 11:49 p.m., was tectonic in origin with a depth of 10 kilometers.

There are no expected damages but aftershocks may occur, said PHIVOLCS. — BAP, GMA News
