The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) issued a tsunami warning after a magnitude 7.4 earthquake struck near the coast of Chiapas Mexico.

"Hazardous tsunami waves are possible for coasts located within 300 km of the earthquake epicenter," PHIVOLCS said.

"This is for information purposes only and there is no tsunami threat to the Philippines from this earthquake," the agency added. — BAP, GMA News
