11-year old boy stabbed dead by uncle in Negros Oriental

A family problem led to the death of an 11-year-old boy in the town of Manjuyod in Negros Oriental.

In the presence of other family members, the boy’s uncle stabbed the victim and his elder sibling while at their grandparents’ house in Barangay Candabong on July 19, 2026.

The victims were at the house to have lunch.

Investigation showed that the suspect arrived at the house and, without any provocation, stabbed the boy in the stomach.

He then stabbed the boy’s elder sibling. The sibling survived.

The suspect did not heed his father’s plea to surrender to authorities.

Policemen who pursued the suspect later found him dead at his house.

He reportedly took his own life.

Investigation showed that the suspect got angry with the victim because the boy did not give him his wife’s contact number.

His wife supposedly broke up with him because of his frequent drunkenness.
