A Grade 9 student in Bacolod City was caught with P200,000 worth of suspected crystal methamphetamine or “shabu” on Tuesday.

According to a "Saksi" report, police said the security guard at the school was told that the student was carrying a sharp object. When his bag was suspected, the illegal drugs were found.

The student is now in the custody of Bacolod City’s Social Development Center.

The boy’s mother denied that her child was involved in illegal drugs.

Police said that it is possible that the student was the subject of a prank. They are still determining how the student was able to sneak the drugs inside school premises. —Jean Mangaluz/RF, GMA News
