LTO revokes license of SUV driver who hit traffic enforcer in Cebu City
The Land Transportation Office (LTO) has revoked the license of the SUV driver who nearly ran over a traffic enforcer in Cebu City.
No. 4136," the LTO said in a statement on Sunday.
(The decision to revoke the driver's license followed the results of the conducted investigation, where he was proven guilty of Reckless Driving and as an Improper Person to Operate a Motor Vehicle under Republic Act No. 4136.)
(Based on the gathered evidence, the driver did not follow the traffic enforcer's signal, struck the officer while performing his duty, and left the scene without rendering proper assistance.)
The incident caught by CCTV occurred at an intersection in Barangay Capitol Site, Cebu City.
The SUV driver, however, said he did not see the victim, even if he was standing in front of his vehicle.
CCTV footage showed the enforcer directing vehicles to stop at the intersection. A white SUV stopped in front of the victim.
But as soon as the enforcer turned around, the vehicle moved forward and struck the unsuspecting victim from behind.
The enforcer fell to the ground and was fortunate to have crawled to safety before being run over by the SUV that continued to accelerate away from the scene. — BAP, GMA News
