DENR forest ranger dies while on patrol in Batangas

A forest ranger of the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) died while patrolling a forest conservation area in Barangay Talisay in Lipa City, Batangas last August 13.

In a post on Sunday, DENR Calabarzon said forest ranger Raymond John Lara was on duty along with his colleagues when he suddenly lost consciousness and fell on the ground.

The department said Lara was immediately rushed to a hospital, but he eventually died. The doctor said he suffered a heart attack.

The agency shared Lara recently became a regular employee last June after serving for 11 years as a contract of service employee at the Batangas Provincial Environment and Natural Resources Office.

A wake is being held at Ilat South in San Pascual. He will be buried on August 20. —Vince Angelo Ferreras/RF, GMA News
