Zamboanga school shooting: What we know so far

While the investigation continues, here is what we know so far about the school shooting incident that occurred at a private school in Zamboanga City on Tuesday morning.

The shooting occurred at the Junior High School campus of the Ateneo de Zamboanga University.

City Mayor Khymer Olaso earlier said two students died, including the alleged shooter.

Interviewed on Super Radyo dzBB, Zamboanga City Police Office spokesperson Paul Cortes said the incident lasted around 15 to 30 minutes.

However, Cortes said authorities were still validating reports that the alleged shooter was among the fatalities, although he confirmed that two people had died.

The police official also said there were no reported injuries, although authorities were still checking with some hospitals.

Meanwhile, he said a pistol was found at the crime scene and that he was awaiting the final report from the Scene of the Crime Operatives.— MCG, GMA News
