TIMELINE: Revisiting the week of Yolanda

Super Typhoon Yolanda (international name: Haiyan) made the first of its six landfalls in the Philippines at Guian, Eastern Samar, on November 8, 2013. A year later, thousands are still dealing with the destruction in the wake the super typhoon that ravaged through the Visayas region. Rehabilitation efforts continue to help the survivors rebuild their lives.

 

As the first anniversary of the deadly typhoon approaches, we remember the moments that stood out as the super typhoon began its onslaught, as well as the moments that will forever stand as triumphs of the human spirit.
