Inside the Marawi main battle area in 3D 360 VR video

Nine days after Presidente Rodrigo Duterte declared Marawi free from the terrorist group Maute-ISIS, GMA News was granted access inside the heart of the main battle area in Marawi City.

Pockets of resistance remained at that time but members of the 3rd Scout Ranger Battalion decided it was time to show the public why it was so hard to retake the city since May 23, 2017 when members of the terrorist group first staged attacks in several areas.

Armed with a 360 degree video camera, the Scout Rangers took me to crucial areas that decided the outcome of their mission, from the house the terrorists used as a sniper stronghold to the exact spot where the terrorist leaders where killed.

Along the way, the soldiers told their story.
