Cebu Pacific to fly Manila-Taipei route in June

Gokongwei-owned Cebu Pacific will start flying direct to Taipei, Taiwan this June, the airline said Tuesday. “We hope that with the opening of this new regional destination, we will further encourage travel for both leisure and business sectors. Our Manila-Taipei offering will also provide better access for local residents of both countries to learn English and Mandarin, as they further assimilate themselves with the rich cultures both countries have to offer." Lance Gokongwei, CEB President and CEO said. Passengers to Taipei will ride the airline's brand new Airbus A320 aircraft. The Manila-Taipei flights are scheduled to operate daily, starting June 13, 2007 with a special introductory offer of only P888 one-way. The Taipei seat sale will run from March 21 to 27, 2007 and is good for travel from June 13 to September 30, 2007. Fare is exclusive of surcharges and government tax. The flight departs from Manila at 11:10am, arriving in Taipei at 1:10pm. The flight back departs from Taipei at 1:55pm and arrives in Manila at 3:55pm. CEB will operate from Taipei's Chang Kai Shek International Airport. Taipei is one of the busiest cities in the world. Its business and tourist attractions include the National Palace Museum, Longshan Temple and Lin Family Museum and Garden and Taipei 101 – The world’s tallest building, symbolizing Taipei’s tremendous progress from its humble start as a valley and farming village beside the Danshui River. “We’re also proud to provide our Filipino overseas workers very affordable fares that will allow them to easily visit their families and relatives during weekends and long holidays. This is part of our commitment to making air travel a viable option for more people," Gokongwei said. “Taipei is our eighth international destination. As we continue with our expansion program, we remain steadfast to our commitment to bring air travel closer to more Filipinos by continuing to provide the lowest fares to any destination we fly to. At the same time, we continue our pledge to support both countries’ tourism agenda," he added. -GMANews.TV
