Pinay held for biggest drug bust in Brunei

A 33-year-old Filipino woman was arrested in Brunei on Monday with a 32-year-old Bruneian for possession of 50.7 grams of shabu, said to be the biggest drug bust so far in that country this year. Apart from shabu, the police also found a digital weighing machine, a sealer and utensils modified for the consumption of illegal drugs, the Borneo Bulletin reported Tuesday. The Filipino woman was not named pending judicial process. But the report said she could be facing the death penalty for a crime punishable under the Misuse of Drugs Act Chapter 27 pertaining to the possession of more than 50 grams of methylamphetamine drugs, known as shabu. She was caught with the Bruneian in a raid at one of the government barracks in Jalan Gadong during the wee hours on Monday. Two other Bruneians in their 30s and believed to be in the area to buy illegal drugs were also taken to the police for questioning. The report described them as employees of a private company in the capital of Bandar Seri Begawan. One of them is a marketing administrative officer and the other is a traffic agent. -GMANews.TV
