The remains of a Filipino-American US Army sergeant who was killed in the line of dut in Iraq two weeks ago arrived in his hometown in Pangasinan province Monday afternoon. Sun-Star Pangasinan reported Monday that the remains of Sgt. Richard Correa arrived at the Correa residence in Poblacion village. Ricardo Primicias, Correas’ father, said his son will be buried on June 14 in a private lot beside the public cemetery in Barangay Maniboc in Lingayen. Correa, 25, died last May 29 in Farlis, Iraq when an improvised explosive device detonated near him while he and his partner, S/Sgt. Joseph Weiglein, were patrolling the area. He was a squad leader assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 14th Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), Fort Drum in New York. Correa was the second Pangasinanense to die in that country. The other one was 25-year-old US Army Staff Sergeant Richwell Doria of Dagupan City. - GMANews.TV
