Rodrigo Duterte, pang-70 sa 74 na ‘most powerful leader’ —Forbes

Nakasali si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte sa listahan ng Forbes Magazine ng pinakamakapangyarihang tao sa mundo sa taong kasalukuyan.

Sa listahan ng Forbes Magazine na inilathala noong ika-14 ng Disyembre, pang-70 si Duterte sa 74 na mga personalidad na pinili ng pahayagan. Ang batayan ng pagpili ay: "one person out of every 100 million whose action meant the most."

Nasa No. 1 spot si Russian President Vladimir Putin, na sinundan ni US President-elect Donald Trump. Pangatlo naman si German Chancellor Angela Merkel, pang-apat si Chinese President Xi Jinping, at pang-lima si Pope Francis.

Samantala, pang-48th lamang si outgoing US President Barack Obama.

Nakasama naman sa Top 10 ang negosyanteng si Bill Gates (nasa 7th), at si Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg (10th).

Patungkol kay Duterte, na isa sa 11 na bagong pangalan sa listahan, sinabi ng Forbes na "The former mayor of Davao City was elected president of the Philippines in May 2016 on the strength of a campaign that promised the swift execution of drug users and other criminals, and his war on crime has already resulted in the killing of thousands of people."

Dagdag nito, naungusan ni Duterte si Ayman al-Zawahiri (71st) ng teroristang grupong al Qaeda.

Pero paglilinaw ng Forbes: "Any ranking of the world's most powerful people is going to be subjective, so we don't pretend ours is definitive. It's meant to be the beginning of a conversation, not the final word." — LBG, GMA News
