Chinese posing as Filipino intercepted in NAIA — BI

Authorities have intercepted a Chinese who was allegedly posing as a Filipino at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) in August, the Bureau of Immigration (BI) said Tuesday.

BI deputy spokesperson Melvin Mabulac likened the individual to former Bamban mayor Alice Guo, who faced multiple charges for alleged involvement in POGOs, falsification of public documents, trafficking, and graft.

“Sabi pa natin, parang Alice Guo ito,” Mabulac told Super Radyo dzBB.

“Even before pa siya makarating… three hours before arrival, nagkaroon na ng alert, nag no-notify na tayo sa ating mga tauhan sa NAIA Terminal 1,” he added.

(Even before he arrived—three hours before his arrival — we had already received an alert and were notifying our personnel at NAIA Terminal 1.)

Mabulac said the individual was brought to the BI Detention Center and is undergoing investigation regarding how she obtained her documents.

He said the individual also has a work visa.

“Sa intelligence community natin, may mga sharing ‘yan… at once naka receive kami ng information at na verify natin talagang meron siyang ginagamit na iba’t ibang dokumento na nag papakilalang Pilipino, that could be a violation din sa Immigration law,” he said.
