Report: Erotic film accidentally broadcast near China railway station

A giant public LED screen attracted undue attention after it accidentally played an erotic movie in China late last June.

The incident occurred near the Jilin Railway Station even as screenshots of the scene went viral, according to a report of the South China Morning Post.

Scenes from the film "Xin Jin Ping Mei" were shown for about 10 minutes on the LED screen on the roof of the Kaixuan Building near Jilin Railway Station ticket office.

Citing a Xinhua report, SCMP said police took into custody Yuan Mou, a technician doing maintenance work on the screen, which had malfunctioned in early June.

Investigation showed Yuan, a technician from Fujian Kewei Optical Company, was hired to do maintenance on the screen, which was connected to a computer.

The SCMP report said Yuan had watched the erotic film, not knowing the LED screen was still connected to the computer.

But he disconnected the computer after getting a phone call from Southern Advertising Company telling him the film was being shown live.

SCMP said photos and reports of the incident went viral on Chinese microblogging site Sina Weibo. — LBG, GMA News
