In his speech at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation meeting in Manila, the Chinese President said "The Asia-Pacific economy is ... confronted with immediate as well as potential difficulties and challenges.
"How to keep the Asia-Pacific economies on the right track and how to find new growth areas and strengthen [their] status as growth engine ... are questions that merit serious attention," he said.
Meanwhile, a report on Reuters quoted the Chinese President as saying that "the fundamentals of China's economy remain positive and is proving resilient to the pains of deepening reform and there is ample room to fend off downward pressure." — LBG, GMA News
