Worldwide coronavirus cases cross 46.73 million, death toll at 1,202,824

More than 46.73 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 1,202,824? have died, according to a Reuters tally.

Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.

The top five countries with the most number of cases are:

1. United States - 231,098deaths out of 9,243,694 cases
2. India - 123,097 deaths out of 8,267,623 cases
3. Brazil- 160,074 deaths out of 5,545,705 cases
4. Russia - 28,473 deaths out of 1,655,038 cases
5. France - 37,435 deaths out of 1,466,433 cases

The Philippines has reported a total of 385,400 cases with 348,830 recoveries and 7,269 fatalities as of Friday. -Reuters
