Worldwide coronavirus cases cross 80.8M, death toll at 1,766,359 —Reuters tally

More than 80.8 million people have been reported to be infected by the novel coronavirus globally and 1,766,359 have died, according to a Reuters tally.
   
Infections have been reported in more than 210 countries and territories since the first cases were identified in China in December 2019.

The US leads with 19,048,003 cases and 333,180 deaths.

It was followed by:

• India: 10,207,871 cases and 147,901 deaths
• Brazil: 7,484,285 cases and 191,139 deaths
• Russia: 3,078,035 cases and 55,265 deaths
• France: 2,559,686 cases and 62,746 deaths

The Philippines is 29th on the list with 470,650 cases and 9,124 deaths. —Reuters
