No tsunami threat after magnitude 6.9 quake hit Indonesia — PHIVOLCS


There is no tsunami threat in the Philippines following the magnitude 6.9 earthquake that struck Bali Sea region of Indonesia early Tuesday morning, PHIVOLCS reported.

There is no action required, the agency said in its Tsunami threat advisory.

PHIVOLCS reported that a 6.9-magnitude occurred at 3:56 a.m., southeast of Bali Sea with a depth of 55 kilometers.

The European-Mediterranean Seismological Centre (EMSC) said  7.1-magnitude quake's epicenter was 201 kilometers north of Mataram, Indonesia and 518 kilometers (322 miles) below the Earth's surface, EMSC said. — Reuters with BAP, GMA Integrated News
