AFP dispels Biazon’s fears of military bombings

The military on Sunday allayed fears of Sen. Rodolfo Biazon that the military will carryout bombing operations to create a situation that would justify Proclamation 1017. “A government, in its right mind, will not do that. If our own government will carry this out, we will no longer be credible and we will lose the trust of the people," said Armed Forces of the Philippines spokesman Col. Tristan Kison. Biazon was suspicious pro-government groups were going to stage bombings in Manila. The lawmaker received information that soldiers got orders to bring in C4 explosives, but the purpose was unclear. Biazon, chairman of the Senate committee on national defense, said he had communications with some soldiers who get orders to hand over the explosives to another group in Manila. -GMANews.TV
