Cloudy skies, Habagat rains expected over Luzon, Visayas—PAGASA

The Southwest Monsoon, or Habagat, is expected to bring rains over parts of Luzon and Visayas on September 8, 2026, state weather bureau PAGASA said Monday in its 4 p.m. bulletin.

The Habagat is expected to bring monsoon rains over Zambales and occasional rains over Pangasinan, Tarlac, Pampanga, Bataan, Cavite, Batangas, Occidental Mindoro and Antique.

Cloudy skies with scattered rains and thunderstorms are expected over Metro Manila and the rest of Luzon and Western Visayas. Meanwhile, partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms are expected over the rest of Visayas.

Localized thunderstorms are expected to affect Mindanao, bringing partly cloudy to cloudy skies with isolated rain showers or thunderstorms.

As of 2 p.m., PAGASA said Tropical Depression Krovanh (formerly Pilandok/LPA 08j) had exited the Philippine Area of Responsibility, adding that no low pressure areas were being monitored for possible tropical cyclone formation.

Light to moderate winds and slight to moderate coastal waters are expected across the country. Wave heights are forecast to range from 0.6 meter to 2.1 meters in Mindanao and 0.6 meter to 2.5 meters in Luzon and Visayas.

At the PAGASA Science Garden weather station in Diliman, Quezon City, the highest temperature recorded on Monday was 27.7°C at 11 a.m., while the lowest was 24.9°C at 10 a.m.
